Benefits Program Information
and Enrollment.
By placing this information on the intranet, employees
can locate and print out just the information that
interests them. Open enrollment can also be placed
online.
Policy and Procedure Manuals.
Besides eliminating lots of paper, it ensures that
employees are always looking at the latest information.
Also, if something changes which affects lots of
employees, simply send a short e-mail message to
all employees notifying them of the change. Then,
only affected employees can go to the HR page to
find out more. This method is less time consuming
than writing a long memo to everyone.
Bonus and Compensation
Program Information.
Using security access privileges, managers can find
out detailed information about special bonus, compensation
and incentive plans.
Internal Job Postings.
A great method of disseminating the latest information
on new job announcements.
Recruitment Procedures.
An intranet is a wonderful place to file processes
and procedures for annual job reviews, job requisitions,
employee grievances, promotions and other information
related to staffing and recruitment.
Resumes.
After scanning in resumes, why not place them on
the HR intranet site? Custom search capabilities
can be added so that each resume is easily found.
Access privileges ensure that only authorized personnel
can view the information.
Employee Updates of Personal Information.
Using intranet database integration techniques,
employees can be given direct access to their personal
information for editing (password-protected and
secure, of course). For example, an employee gets
married and may need to change their last name.
Or their mailing address changes. Or their emergency
phone number changes.
Employee Surveys.
An intranet is a great way to conduct an employee
survey of key company issues such as smoking in
the workplace, product quality, communication, workplace
environment, employee satisfaction, specific suggestions
for improvement, etc. Rather than sending the whole
survey to everyone via email, send them a short
email with the survey page indicated as a link.
This way, employees who are interested in filling
out the survey are only a click away from the survey
page.
Organization Charts.
These charts can often change. Why not place them
on the intranet so that the latest charts are always
available to everyone? Photos of employees can easily
be added.
Forms.
The HR department in many organizations spends lots
of time processing forms. The intranet is an ideal
repository for plACI, Inc.ng the most commonly requested
forms. The latest version is always available for
employees. Employees print out only those forms
they need.
Contact Information.
By posting the names (and even photos), responsibilities,
and phone numbers of HR personnel, employees can
streamline their search for the right person to
solve their problem.
Holiday Schedules.
Posting regularly scheduled company holidays provides
useful information to everyone.
Employee Records.
Using security access procedures, authorized HR
staff can have ready access to employee records,
including salary histories, reviews and hiring information.
401(k) Plans.
Provide real-time access to employees for reviewing
and enrolling in corporate 401(k) plans.
